Big changes for 2010 to make the series bigger and better for everyone.

Dear Competitor

This is your invitation for the 2010 Victorian Roadrace Championship Series.
Rounds are to be held at the following Circuits over the year.

Round 1:- State Motorcycle Sports Complex, Broadford, 20th - 21st March 2010. MV Permit Number 41559
Round 2:- Phillip Island GP Circuit, Phillip Island, 22nd -23rd May.
Round 3:- Winton Motor Raceway, Winton , 17th - 18th July.
Round 4:- State Motorcycle Sports Complex, 28th-29th August.

Big Changes for 2010 Series
Preston MCC and Motorcycling Victoria are working together to attract riders back to the series. A number of things have been put in place to ensure a great and successful 2010 series. They are: -
-   Reduced entry fees. (Around $220 and $60 for a cross entries)
-   More rides per weekend via cross entries. Up to 7 races. Most riders will be able to cross enter into a different class.
-   Reduced costs with the help of Motorcycling Victoria and more entries.
-   More sponsors. A new sponsors committee.
-   Better promotion. New Series posters.

One of the big thing riders have been telling us is that they want more rides and reduce fees; well we think we have done it but we need your help. If this series is going to succeed we need the riders to support the series in their numbers. If we can increase the number of riders up to around 120 then we can reduce entry fee substantially. To attract riders back we are allowing most machines to cross enter in two classes. We have changed the format of the events to allow machines that qualify for two classes to get 2 sets of races by shuffling the order and grouping of races and classes. Even after paying the cross entry fee it will still be cheaper than last years total entry fee.
If you are eligible to enter two classes you will get at least 6 races, 2 qualifying sessions and 1 warm-up session.

Superbike & Supersport can also enter in the New Open +500cc class, no Superstock machines allow.
Stock & Modified 400 machines can also enter in the Pre-Modern F2 classes.
Superstock 600 machines can enter Superstock 600 & Supersport classes.
Superstock 1000 machines can enter Superstock 1000 & Superbike classes.
Pre-Modern F1 machines can enter Pre-Modern F1 & either Superbike or Supersport classes.
Older 125GP machines can enter 125GP & Pre-Modern F2 classes.
Older Clubsport machines can enter Clubsport & Pre-Modern F2 classes.
Bears machines can enter Bears & Superbike classes.
Twin Sprint machines can enter Twin Sprint & Thunderbike classes.
Pre-Modern classes are for any machines that are older than 9 years old. These classes were introduced to allow older machines to continue to race long after they become uncompetitive.

Thunderbike class is for machines that don?t fit into the standard classes. For example single cylinder machines like MX bikes.

You will also find enclosed with this letter a promotion poster for the series. We ask that you post it somewhere in your local area (Pub, cafe, club, school or events board). The more we promote the series and get more spectators we get along to each event the cheaper we can make it for you. An extra 500 spectators would reduce the entry fee by a further $30.

A split grid with 125gp's is the most likely.

Most of you riders seem to want 4 rounds.
It would help if Hartwell MCC was involved to make that happen. If they could run a Broadford round it would take a lot of pressure of Preston. We are already running 2 rounds of the Vic Titles (Round 1- Broadford & Round 2 - Winton , which we run for Winton MRW), 3 Roadrace Schools/Junior Roadrace rounds, Hughie Hoare Event, Harvie Wiltshire Trophy Race & the Australian Classic MX Championships. Thats 8 events for 2010. The Preston committee is stretched to the limit now and with more next year we really need help. More members need to come out and help the committee.

Sue and myself are inviting the new Hartwell committee along to the next MV Roadrace committee meeting to talk about next year.

After some talks with the new Hartwell President at the MVRRC meeting we are hopeful they will join the 2010 series as a promoter.

With the Motorcycling Victroia Roadrace Committe in charge of all finances for the Series and the promoting clubs running each event. All costs and entry fees going back to the committee and at the end of the series shared between the promoting clubs. That way no one club is advantaged or disadvantaged by which round they run. A small amount of money will be needed at the start which Preston is willing to put half.

Entry fee for each Broadford round will be around $220 and a possible 10% discount for entering the two Broadford round together.

Almost all riders will be able to cross enter into a second championship class for a small fee. Every rider that cross-enters will get at least 6 races, 2 qualifying sessions and a Sunday warmup.

So tell all your friends to get their bike ready for next year, there is no excuses for them now.

I know we've (Francis) spoken about this previously.

Would there be a chance of running a non-conforming bike (modified VFR800) in a lower category to get a chance to give it a run?

Say something like supersport/superstock/bears/thunderbike without being eligible for category points etc to keep things happy?

Cheers,
Dave.

Your VFR800 would be welcome in Thunderbike class. It's a class for machines that just don't fit in the normal classes.
